Holiday VoxBox 2012

Overall I was surprised by how much interesting stuff they gave me this time around! Be ready to learn about each item!!

1. The Kiss Nail Dress
I got Babydoll, and I thought that it was pretty cute.  They were not especially easy to apply as advertised on the box.  It also did not last 10 days as promised... the ends wear off after  a little bit of time. Taking them off is quite simple though. I would recommend these for sleepovers with girlfriends because they could be fun to do with friends.

2. The NYC lipshine Lip Gloss
This lip gloss is not anything special.  The packaging claims that it is a non-sticky formula, but it was quite the opposite... it was super sticky and thick on the lips.  Probably the only things I like about it were the color and the price.  This product does not live up to the legacy of other NYC products.

3. Quickstyle Hair Brush
This brush didn't do much drying, but it helped make my hair a little less damp... Some things I dislike about it were that my hair got caught in it a lot and it frizzed up my hair a bit my making it dry so quickly.  This would be good for people who like to blowdry their hair.  The hair does not brush out all at once as the blue squishy things stop the hair from going to the end of the brush.  Kind of over-priced in my eyes and I'd rather have a normal (non-drying) hairbrush. Not amazed yet not dissapointed.

4. Quaker real Medleys
These were nice because they were so quick and easy to make!! The one thing that threw me off on this one was that I disliked the flavor. I had gotten Cherry and pistachio and normally I like those two but it did not taste good in this blend.  I wish I had gotten a better taste!  I think that the price should be from $2.00-$2.50 because over that, youre kind of pushing it for a tiny jar of oatmeal.  Although it is pretty small, it is quite filling.

5. Sole Society coupon
I wish I could review this but I did not redeem my coupon.  I looked on the website and nothing really caught my eye.

6. EBOOST natural energy Boost
This was similar to the energy strips I'd gotten in the last voxbox. It tasted pretty good except it sucks that you have to drink a lot of water to go along with it, and as I do not have any plastic water bottles, it did not make it an easy task.  The energy it provides was okay and I didn't feel too much of a crash afterwards. Overall a good energy booster.

College VoxBox 2012

Overall, I give this box a 9/10 because I really was unhappy with the Necco wafers.  I also calculated that the value of this box is about $19.60, which is amazing! :)

TROPICAL NECCO WAFERS
These never seemed like they tasted good in the original flavor, so I expected the Tropical ones to taste good.  I was dissapointed.  They are hard and powdery at the same time (they taste powdery too).  The flavor does not taste good and (definitely artificial) and had a weird after-taste. It is also covered in a bit of white powder which transferred to whatever I touched afterwards.  I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a candy or not, but I'm sticking to the others... I don't mean to be negative but it's my job to be very honest in my reviews.

PENTEL (ENERGEL-X) R.S.V.P. PEN (fine)
OMG!! I really love this pen! It writes really smoothly and the ink doesn't come out in chunks.  It is comfortable to hold to due to this soft grip.  I was also surprised by how much ink it comes with compared to any other pen.  I got it in fine, which I believe is 0.5 pt lead, which I enjoy to write with. I definitely encourage you to try this out because I know I will be using this pen all the time!

NYC GLITTER PENCIL
This eyeliner's creaminess surprised me.  Before putting it on my eyes, I tried it on my hand and it glided right on with barely any effort, an it had amazing pigmentation.  I then tight-lined my eyes. On the right eye, it applied super easily. The only thing I noticed then was that a little was transferring to my bottom lash line.  I then went on to the left eye and my eye started to water, so I kept wiping off the eyeliner that was transferring and it was making it worse.  I think this eyeliner would work better as a "top of the lashline liner" instead of for tight lining (especially with watery eyes).  One last thing I noticed about it was that there is glitter in the liner, but when I applied it, it didn't show too much in the liner but instead it was around my lashes/ eye area (probably from wiping my eyes).  I can tell this would be a good eyeliner for those who like it smudgy (but it doesn't come with a smudge brush). You can try it for yourselves, but I give it a 6.5/10.

ENERGY SHEETS
I tried these (i only took 1) the day of Black Friday after having shopped all day and I didn't notice much of a drastic change, but my sister did. She said that I suddenly seemed more happy and less tired, so I guess it worked. I sorta started feeling tired again after about 2 hours but that's normal I guess.  So I think that it worked considering I took 1 and you can take up to 3 or 4 at once.  One major setback is that these taste disgusting . They tasted like mint for the first 3 seconds they were on my tongue, but after that I didn't want it to slowly dissolve on my tongue and I wanted to spit it out.  Maybe the other flavor (a berry flavor) will taste better. I give this a 5/10, but I will have to retry it with more than one strip at a time to see if it worked better.

Biore Nose Pore Strips

It might sound disgusting, but looking at what was stuck in your pores is really fun! It hurts a bit to rip it off your nose but it is bearable. (I always have a little tear, so you need to do it quickly!) I feel really clean when I finally take it off my nose, and it feels fresh and nice. Try it for yourselves!

Baby Lips VS. Softlips

VS. 

These are nice products. The colored ones are not too extravagant and the clear ones make your lips feel super moisturized and soft... but I find that I prefer Softlips. The caps on these can easy fall off and it is way bulkier than the softlips. Also, i feel like softlips go on a bit thicker so they last longer and its gives the lips that little tingling feeling that the Baby lips doesn't. Overall, I like this product and I would rather buy a colored on of these and a clear softlips than buy a clear one of these.

Herbal Essences Honey I'm Strong Shampoo

I first got this shampoo because I really like all of Herbal Essences' stuff... i really like the sweet smell. The only problem that I noticed was that it made my hair oilier faster, which was not enjoyable, and also, it contains a lot of protein, and with my conditioner that also had protein, my ends were becoming brittle from the high amount of these vitamins and proteins. In addition to making the ends a little brittle after a lot of use, it lived up to what is written on the bottle- strengthening shampoo.  I was surprised though, because in addition to having a little less breakage, my hair was becoming crazily stretchy. I could pull a strand of hair 4 inches longer than it originally was before it broke.  I also thing that this was due to the overdose of protein. Oh, one last thing... It doesn't stop dandruff.

Hanging Pictures

I've wanted to try this in my room for a long time but I've always sort of set it aside as a summer break activity.  It would look super cute in my room and would make things a little more organized too. I think I wouldn't pull it as taught as in the picture, because I like how that looks better. It seems pretty easy because all you really need is string/ wire, nails, and little clothes pins. To try for sure!

Maybelline Mineral Powder

I guess the quality could have been determined because it is pretty cheap, but the color was way too light for my skin tone and it didn't look very natural. The brush also didn't distribute the product evenly accross my face, making it look a little blotchy. I might have like it a little more if it was the right color...
